The March Violets

The March Violets

The March Violets is a British gothic rock and post-punk band formed in Leeds in 1981. Emerging from the same scene as bands like The Sisters of Mercy, they quickly gained a following with their dark, atmospheric sound, characterized by dual male and female vocals and prominent drum machines. Known for tracks like Snake Dance and Walk Into the Sun, The March Violets were a significant part of the early gothic rock movement. Though they disbanded in the late 1980s, the band reunited in the 2000s and released new music, maintaining their status as influential figures in goth music history.
